Time to Retire

Wheels and Tires

Vehicle Information: Year: 2003; Engine (type, size, modifications): stock; Total Mileage: 19700; Transmission: Manual;

At 17K miles I started to hear whining from the rear at different speeds. Dealer took a look and said all was well, just needed new tires. I now have 19700 miles. It is a daily drive. No DE. I am looking at the tread on the tires and all four look like they could go another 5K or more. However the roads in town now seem to be getting very rough, or my Michelin Pilots are trying to tell me something. Manual says tires have wear markers, but not to wait that long. No sign of marks. Please let me know your thoughs. This is my first Porsche after waiting many years. Local PCA guys say I should be happy with 20K. First Question...Is it time ?Second Question..There is a Michelin Pilot Sport A/S that Michelin says has a quieter ride and longer life. Any thoughts?Thanks Rick Howes
