Vehicle Information: Model: 911 T; Year: 1973; Body Type: Targa; Engine (type, size, modifications): 2.4 litre; Total Mileage: 120,900;

I replaced the distributor cap and rotor, cleaned the points, set the timing, and the car started and ran fine this morning. After sitting for three hours, it simply would not re-start. I loosened and manually re-adjusted the distributor, and it started right up and ran fine again. After this, I noticed that the line I had marked on the distributor flange and on the hold-down stud didn't line up any more. The line on the stud had rotated a few degrees, relative to the line on the flange. Can you certainly say that it's time for a timesert for the distributor stud ? Should I try this myself or take it straight to an experienced mechanic ?
