tire wear

Wheels and Tires

Model: Carrera Cab, Year:2000, Mileage:43000, Type of use:Street use only
I own a 2000 911 and use Continental Conti II tires for both front and rear. I had to replace the rear tires after 5500 miles the last two times. Is this common? Shouldn't I get more mileage on the rear tires? I don't race or rip out from stops. I put about 3500 highway miles per year of a total 5000 miles.Should I consider a different brand of tire?Could the car itself be at fault? The dealer has no explanation. Thanks,John
