Wheels and Tires

In the next 12 months I must replace the tires on my 2004 model 996 with 285/30ZR18 rear and 225/40ZR18 front. The Michelin replacement (i.e. rear) is $459.99. The B.F. Goodrich performance equivalent is $262.99. Do you have knowledge of any replacement tires that are good road tires, or must I stay with the Porsche original manufacturer. It seem Michelin is taking advantage of us.
