tires mounted backwards

Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 1973; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2L carbs, SSIs; Total Mileage: 100,000;

The tire dealer mounted my two of my tires backwards - i.e. they are directional (Bridgestone S03s) and the mounted them so the arrow goes backwards on two of them. They were run that way for several hundred miles until I noticed the problem and I had them remount the tires. I want to know if this could have possibly caused any internal damage. The tire dealer says no, but I don't want to trust my life to him. If a tire separated at 150 mph ....I tried to contact Bridgestone but they ignored my Email and letter. Anything you can tell me? I'm worried that the belts might have taken a set, or something...
