Cables and Controls

Vehicle Information: Year: 2000; Engine (type, size, modifications): No Mods; Total Mileage: 36,000;

I hate to belabor the question about the top cables, however when my dealer performed the 30,000 mile check on my car, I requested a check of the cables and replacement with the new cables if required. The diagnosis was "found top links and bushings worn-replaced top links and bushings-adjusted top." Replacement part numbers were: 2 ea 986-561-279-02 (AS push rod) and 2 ea 986-561-881-00 (Cabrio rubber buffer). My question is: Are these the cables that elongate due to the plastic housings? And if they are, did the replace them with the upgraded cables? The most recent question posted concerning this issue described a cable with a different part number. Thanks for your help!
