Towing my 85 Carrera

Model: Carrera Targa, Year:1985, Mileage:36000, Type of use:Street use only
I'd like to take my 85 Carrera to the North Carolina mountains for a little play time from South Florida. However, I don't want to drive it up, but rather tow it.Could I safely tow it using a two wheel tow dolly? If so, do I tow it by the front wheels? Your advice is appreciated.
