Ventilation Odor

Heating and Ventilation

Model: C4S, Year:2009, Mileage:13,500, Type of use:Street use only
I have a 2009 C4S and have been having an odor problem almost from the day I purchased it. When I turn on the car, i get a strong musty moldy smell for a few minutes coming from the ventilation system. I have never used the circulating air, so all the air coming in is from the outside. The car is always garaged, hardly ever goes out in the rain, no one eats or smokes in it. I have had it to the dealer 5 times and the odor is still there. They have changed the filter twice and have sprayed disinfectant, etc. into the system. The dealer tells me there is nothing else that can be done short of removing the dashboard to replace the evaporator unit. They tell me it is an expense job and Porsche will not pay. I called Porsche Northamerica in Atlanta, Georgia and the person assigned to my case told me there is nothing to be done, and if I don't like that answer, "you can take it to arbitration". It is my opinion that a car costing over $100,000.00 should not have a continuous odor problem. Do you have any solutions or insight and\or should Porsche pay to replace the evaporator??
