very small metal fragment found in trans oil

Transmission

Vehicle Information: Model: 356C; Year: 1964; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 1600; Total Mileage: 74K;

New to 356, but driving a '92 964C2 since 92.I just bought a project 356C, and while draining the trans oil, I found about a gram of very small fragments of metal attached to the magnet of the trans drain plug. Before I bought the car, the seller told me that 2nd and 4th gears will always pop out, but reverse, 1st, and 3rd are normal, and I haven't driven the car since I bought it.Do the metal fragments found in the trans oil mean that the synchro system in the trans is bad? How many synchro system(s) in the 356C? (one set per gear or one set for all 4-gears?) I will try to take the trans apart and will try to replace the parts myself. Thank you again.
