Window and Window molding trim

Model: 911 SC, Year:1978, Mileage:39000, Type of use:Street use only
I am the original owner of a white '78 911 SC. The body has been unmolested by traffic. The paint is good considering its age but the wind sheild and window trim is another story. The original color (black) of the metal trim in the rubber molding around the wind sheild and side window frames has faded at differing rates. Now, the metal trim is not black but neither is it bright chrome. Does restoration of the color of the trim include removal of all windows? What is your suggestion when the rest of the car has original paint and looks very good after 33 years with this exception? What is a good estimate to restore the color? Am I too picky about this "flaw" with the car?Thank you,Ed Gruben
